I have a friend, she was come from London and her name is
Ariana. We've been friends for a long time and she wanted to visit Indonesia,
because Ariana know that Indonesia is a country with many islands and Ariana
also know that Indonesia has a diverse culture.
She was very interested to come
to Indonesia, and this is first time for ariana visit to indonesia. Therefore,
I gave one recommended place in Indonesia where she could visit. Those place is
Derawan Islands, that's located in Kalimantan Timur.
Derawan Islands
The Derawan Islands are in the province of East Kalimantan
in Indonesia. In this island there are a number of charming nautical tourism,
one of which is in great demand Underwater Parks foreign tourists, especially
divers worldwide. Derawan Islands has three districts that is Derawan Island,
Maratua, the Big Dipper and the Big Dipper, Berau. There are at least four famous islands in the archipelago,
namely Maratua, Derawan, Charitable, and inhabited by endangered species
Kakaban green and hawksbill turtles.
Geographically, it is located on a peninsula north of Berau
regency marine waters consisting of several islands of Long Island, Island
Raburabu, Samama Island, Island Charitable, Kakaban, Nabuko island, Derawan
Maratua and coral reefs as well as some Muaras charred, scorched Pinaka ,
Buliulin charred, scorched Masimbung, and charred Tababinga.
Derawan Islands there are several coastal and small island
ecosystems very important that coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove forest
(mangrove forests). In addition, many species were protected in the Islands
Derawan like green turtles, hawksbill turtles, whales, dolphins, clams, coconut
crabs, mermaids, fish, barracuda and a few other species.
Derawan also provide accommodation facilities for local and foreign tourists to rest and vacation there. Although the number of cottages is still limited, but there are more than 100 house of people who live there used as accommodation or homestay for tourists. there also provide attractive accommodation located directly above the calm sea Derawan. So tourists can see the beauty of the underwater world of the room and do not need to diving.
